National Day Printing Plan for Dubai Businesses: What to Order and When

For National Day printing in Dubai, order the slowest, most detailed items first and the quick ones last. For National Day that means custom gift boxes and signage in the first week of November, banners and event materials by mid-November, and flyers and top-ups by the third week, with everything delivered and checked a week before 2 December.

We have printed for National Day for 24 years, and the pattern never changes. A design can be tweaked at the last minute, but a production schedule cannot. Here is the order we would follow for the 55th National Day, and the reasoning behind each step.

WhenWhat to Do
Late OctoberConfirm what you are printing, quantities, and who gets what. Start the artwork.
First week of NovemberApprove and order boxes, signage, and anything custom or installed.
Mid-NovemberOrder event collateral, banners, window graphics, and giveaways.
Third week of NovemberPlace the final quick-turn orders and top-ups.
Final week of NovemberTake delivery, install, and check everything.
Do not plan towards 2 December itself. Plan towards the day everything is delivered, installed, and checked, which should be about a week earlier. That buffer keeps a plan alive. A banner with a wrong date, a box that arrives creased, or a window decal that needs resizing is a five-minute fix a week out and a crisis the day before. Without a buffer, one small error takes the whole plan down with it.

1. Order First: Custom, Detailed, and Installed Items

The longest lead times belong to items that are made or finished in several stages, so they go first. Aim to have these approved and ordered by the first week of November.

Custom Gift Boxes

Each finish on a box is its own production step. Foil stamping, embossing, and fitted inserts each add time, and the box also needs to be designed, sampled, and approved before anything can be packed into it.

Start with the box, not the contents. Settle what goes inside first, since the box is sized around it, and our corporate gifts range is a good place to decide. Then see the structures on our custom boxes page.

Signage and Window Graphics

Signage and window decals have to be fabricated and then installed on a date that suits an installation team as well as the printing schedule. That gives them two lead times to plan around instead of one.

If anything goes on the outside of a building, check early whether your landlord or building management needs to approve it. That wait can sit outside everyone’s control. Our guide to signage regulations in Dubai explains how approval works for illuminated signs.

2. Order Second: Event Collateral, Banners, and Giveaways

Roll-ups, backdrops, outdoor banners, branded giveaways, and printed event materials come next. They are quicker to produce than a finished box, but they still need artwork approval and the right material. These orders should be in by mid-November.

Outdoor Materials

Be most careful with anything that sits outdoors. Dubai’s heat and sun fade and warp the wrong materials quickly, so tell your printer if a piece will be outside for a week or more, because it changes what they will recommend. Our banner printing page shows the formats available.

Events and Installation

If you are running an event, our event collateral printing covers what we produce. Our events team can also handle installation, which saves you coordinating two suppliers.

3. Order Last: Quick-Turn Items and Top-Ups

Flyers, cards, stickers, leaflets, and greeting cards can be turned around quickly, which makes them the right items for the final window. They are also what you will realise you are short of once preparations are underway. Have these placed by about the third week of November.

Use this slot for top-ups. Order what you know you need, add a buffer of around 10 percent, and leave room for things you only think of in the last fortnight.

Standard turnaround on our stationery is around seven working days, depending on quantity, finishes, and whether the artwork is ready to print. Express options are available if you need them. Treat that as a limit to respect, not a schedule to aim for.

Decide What Is Worth Printing at All

Not everything needs a National Day edition, and a lot of money goes into dated items that get used for one week. Put the budget where customers see it first: the entrance, the window, and the counter. Client gifts come next, then staff items.

Where you can, keep the artwork free of the year so it can come out again for 2027. A design built on the colours and a timeless motif can be reused, while one that prints “55” on every piece cannot. If you plan to use the official National Day identity or logo, check the current usage guidelines before it goes into your artwork, since commercial use may come with conditions.

Get the Brief Right the First Time

Most delays come from missing information, not slow printing. Before you contact anyone, have these ready:

  • Final artwork in a print-ready format
  • Your colour requirements
  • Exact quantities
  • Where and when things need to be delivered
  • Whether anything needs installing

Colour deserves particular attention. Red and green behave differently on paper, vinyl, and fabric, so ask for a proof on the actual material before a large run. Our guide to preparing artwork for printing covers file setup.

Name one person who can approve proofs and answer questions quickly. A proof waiting two days for a manager’s sign-off costs more schedule than any other step in the plan.

What This Means for Your Brand

National Day is one of the few times your entrance, window, counter, and gifts are all judged together. A consistent look across them reads as organised, while a mix of rushed and polished pieces reads the other way. The order you place things in is part of that quality, because it decides which items get the time they need.

Start while it still feels too early. Five weeks sounds like plenty until the first proof is waiting on a signature.

Frequently Asked Questions

Confirm your list and quantities in late October, then place the first orders, boxes and signage, in the first week of November. Quick items like flyers can wait until the third week.
Yes, if the artwork is built on colours and a timeless motif and avoids printing the year. Items with the year on them are for one week only.
Anything fixed to the outside of a building may need your landlord or building management to approve it, so check early. Illuminated signs also have their own approval process.
